Zinc Flake Coating

Non-electrolytic zinc flake coating by dip-spin or spray route for corrosion-resistant fastening and engineering components.

Capability

  • Dip-spin application route for suitable parts and geometries.
  • Spray application route for larger, selective or geometry-sensitive parts.
  • Route review includes pretreatment, blasting where required, coating, curing, second coat where specified and inspection.
  • Topcoat, lubricant and friction-control requirements can be discussed where specified.
  • Salt spray testing support is available for sampling and customer requirement discussions.

Typical Applications

Fasteners, bushes, spacers, brackets, corrosion-sensitive assemblies and engineering components where a non-electrolytic zinc flake system is specified or technically suitable.

Technical Notes

Coating performance depends on surface condition, pretreatment, coating mass, film thickness, curing, handling, packaging, assembly conditions and service environment. Thread and fitment areas should be declared before quotation.

Relevant Standards and Specifications

Work can be reviewed against customer drawings and standards such as ISO 10683 or customer-specific coating specifications, subject to process feasibility and agreed acceptance criteria.
